But they had two of my favorite character quests, so I've thought about them a lot. Of course this is all from my own interpretation of their quests and characters, so take it with a grain of salt. They are similar in both being lost and trying to deal with difficult experiences, but Shenhe's is more inner focused and about dealing with strong emotions, while Ganyu's more outward focused and about finding something to keep her going. Shenhe is simply trying to live day to day without letting her strong feelings tear her apart and find a way to deal with herself. Ganyu's lost much of what she used to believe in and after living for so long rarely feels shock and excitement towards things. It's not just that she doesn't fit in, she believes in Rex Lapis so much, so seeing him step down suddenly and have his reign taken over likely caused her to question what she's doing with herself. She is quite similar to Shenhe, but I'd argue the key difference between them is that Shenhe's cold demeanour comes from her repressing the traumatic life she's had and all the emotions swirling inside her, while Ganyu's coldness comes more from her feeling lost and isolated. I liked her journey to find her place, and seeing her more confident side in Liyue Harbor was quite satisfying. Happy to hear someone else like Ganyu's quest, it's still one of my favorites. Only in freeze teams is the Blizzard Strayer set preferable. Wanderer's Troupe is actually considered as good as SR if not better in most situations iirc. I also think Venti's is pretty phenomenal (it's where the story about Stanley comes from if you've heard of that one), and is pretty handedly the best story emotionally in the game imo.Įdit: omg. The only Inazuma one I really liked has been Raiden pt 2, which imo, is some of the best writing/story in the game. Honestly, while I love Ganyu's design and gameplay, I think she'd be pretty boring lol.Ĭharacter stories in general can be hit or miss. Mona is such a dumb character and I love her dearly lmao. She then finds her master's old journal and the idea of having an awkward conversation with her master is freightening enough to make her drop all of her old life and move to Mondatadt where she plans to stay until her master kicks the bucket.
Mona's story was her trying to challenge Alice and finding out only Klee was around.
